“I was lost but now I found that happiness ain’t joy, just ask around…Then suddenly I knew ya. I felt like hallelujah when I heard you say ‘welcome to the joy,’ the love that never ends where the grace of God renews again and again…The joy of the Lord is my strength!”
God welcomes us to his joy—he welcomes all who would come to him. His arms are open, offering love that never ends and a grace that renews us and infuses us with joy again and again. God loves us in the midst of all circumstances and he gives grace in the midst of all of our mistakes. And, as this song says—we can lean on the fact that the joy of the Lord is our strength. There probably will be times when you feel weak, thinking that joy is far away and hard to find. In those moments remember that God is with you and he is strong. Draw close to him, cling to him, read his promises and pray with every breath you breathe. He will be your strength and your joy. Nothing can take that away!
Nehemiah 8:10b “The joy of the Lord is your strength.”
Questions: What do you do when you are feeling weak? What do you do when you need to find joy? Have you personally experienced God’s strength being your joy?
Prayer Power: Heavenly Father, I need your strength to be my joy. Thank you for the love that never ends and where your grace is renewed again and again. Help me walk in your promises, rely on your strength, and cling to you when joy is hard to find. Thank you that no one can take your joy from me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
