“I know His history and the kind of God He is. He might make it a mystery, but he’s proving I can trust him. And, yeah, I believe it. So I can pick myself back up and keep on telling me –no, my God’s not done making me a masterpiece. No, my God’s not done. He started something good and I’m gonna believe it. He started something good and he’s gonna complete it. So I’ll celebrate the truth; his work in me ain’t through. I’m just unfinished. He’s still workin’ on me.”
Do you feel like God’s still working on you? Do you feel “unfinished” like Mandisa does? We probably all can relate to this feeling. There are times we want to give up—but God says the best is yet to come—now is not the time to give up. He is still at work and his plan is good. It takes time to make a masterpiece, right? Along with Mandisa, let’s celebrate the TRUTH —- we are all a work in progress. And God is not finished—we are just unfinished at the moment, and that is ok. When he starts something good, he always plans to complete it—this is good news! Be strong and have hope—he’s still working on you and on me!
Philippians 1:6 “…being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
Questions: When was the last time you felt “unfinished?” How did God show you how he was working through that set of circumstances? How can you celebrate the truth that God is still working in your life and that he will complete that work in his perfect timing?
Prayer Power: Dear Lord, thank you that I can know it’s ok to be a work in progress. When I am feeling “unfinished,” please remind me that you are with me and that you are still working on me to create something good. Thank you that you always finish the good work you start. Amen.
