Be Ready In and Out of Season

...be ready in and out of season

Go to the ant, O sluggard;

consider her ways, and be wise.

Without having any chief,

officer, or ruler,

she prepares her bread in summer

and gathers her food in harvest

Proverbs 6:6-8 ESV 

The instincts God has provided to the creatures on our shared planet astound me. They anticipate the change of seasons and God, in His infinite wisdom, has put in them the ability to know what to do in each season and when to do it. Isn’t that incredible?!?! They just know when it’s time to gather and when it’s time to rest; when it’s time to stay and when it’s time to go. Our God is so good to care for the things and creatures of this world, but He cares for us in due season too. 

No matter the season we find ourselves in spiritually, we can find purpose and meaning. In the seasons when everything is going just like it should, we can be preparing for the days that might not be as pleasant. In the good times, we can fill our mind with praise music, verses of scripture, and deepening relationships with other believers. We can ask God to teach us and strengthen our spiritual muscles for whatever lies ahead. 

When the season changes and we experience struggle, as we all do, we do not have to be found unprepared. We can remember the words of the music we heard before let them be a salve to a hurting heart. We can cling to the truths of scripture we know and repeat the promises of God back to ourselves. We can let those truths wash over us like healing waters. When we desperately need the fellowship of the body of Christ to carry us through the deepest part of the valley, we can call out to our sisters and brothers who sang praises with us on the clomid-info.com. They will come beside us in the valley and help us take the next step forward, even in our pain. 

2 Timothy 4:1-2 says “I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.” 

No matter the season we are in, whether it’s one of rejoicing or one of sorrow, one of preparing or one of going, one of planting or one of harvesting, there is work to be done. I pray He finds us ready and prepared for kingdom work no matter the season we are in. The harvest truly is plentiful, so let’s be workers in our season.
