Christmas memories
1 Thessalonians 1:2-3
"We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ." (ESV)
Hanging ornaments on the tree has almost become a sacred moment in my holiday season. The old handmade ones mixed in among the new remind me of sweet seasons of life I have had the pleasure of walking through. Each one brings back a memory of faces or moments that bring a smile to my face and heart.
One blue sphere emblazoned with the words Body & Soul® Fitness brings to mind nearly twenty years of precious memories. A kaleidoscope of faces flash through my mind as I hold that little ball up to the twinkling lights. I remember the lives of women who have crossed my path and left a mark on my heart. Each individual soul is as unique as the ornaments adorning my tree. Each woman was a gift to have loved and lifted in prayer while she was in class and still long after the Lord moved her in new directions.
And so I sit and hold this little reminder of the gift of ministry, thanking God for the privilege of serving Him through Body & Soul® . His gift of Himself to all of us makes my little gift of service so easy to give back to Him. There is such joy to be found in serving the Savior. May we all sit in awe and wonder this Christmas season as we reflect back on all He has done.
Will you take time this Christmas to reflect on precious memories as you decorate your tree?
