Provision

God Provides: jehovah jireh

Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that words within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.

Ephesians 3:20 ESV

Have you ever had one of those moments where you just knew God had answered a prayer?  You know, one of those, “this could ONLY have happened because God did this,” kind of moments? Those times can take our breath away but they are also so sweet that we can’t help but notice them and when we do, we can give thanks to God.

I have been a stay-at-home mom for 18 years and for the last 9 years I have homeschooled our three children. We launched our first bird from the nest in August of this year and she is loving college. She’s excelling in her classes and soaking up “all the things” that make the college experience fun. She got a lovely little scholarship but it didn’t pay for everything so we were attempting to make all the numbers work out and we weren’t quite sure how to do that.

message tracieEnter in Jehovah Jireh. Out of the blue, a woman, whom I am briefly acquainted with, messaged me about a job that she saw and it made her think of me. She had no idea that I had just started looking for something part-time. I hadn’t told anyone outside of my family that I was even considering looking for a position. But God knew our needs and He knew the desire of my heart. The job posting literally said, “I’m looking for someone who is a lawyer who is maybe a stay-at-home mom or dad who would want to work remotely about 10-15 hours a week.” I nearly passed out on the floor. Only God could have tailor made a position that specific and sent it at that moment in time. Jehovah Jireh, God provides!

All I could do and can do is give Him all the credit and say how thankful and grateful I am for His provision.  Now, maybe your story isn’t quite as dramatic but I know that we all can point to instances where something happened (be it big or small) where we can only give credit to God for it happening. Sometimes it’s a moment 18 years in the making and sometimes the need is met almost before we can pray a prayer of petition. No matter the circumstance, when God provides the response should be an overflow of gratitude. When He shows up in these moments, I pray that we would all be quick to point to Him as the source of the provision and then spend our time thanking Him for doing more than we could ever ask for proprepharmacie.com

How has God provided for you in your life? What can you give Him thanks for today?
